Studied mathematics at the University of St Andrews, with module content accross a range of mathematics and statistics. Currently on track for a first class honours Masters degree having been placed on the Deans’ list 4 of 4 years thus far and achieved a medal for top Statistics grades in my program during my third year. A personal project inspired by wanting to see what potential Aspect-Based Sentiment Analysis (ABSA) had for analysing News Coverage. The analysis I did looks at what trends have emerged in the past year in British politics, how the sentiment of Guardian coverage compares to public opinion and some strengths and weaknesses of ASBA
Project for ‘History and Future of data’ university module. Processing and analysing data from the a digitised version of the 1911 census in England. The key focuses were on employment, particularly employment by sector and where in the country women were breaking into the workplace.
An essay for my ‘Advanced Bayesian Statistics’ module. It explores different monte carlo methods for posterior sampling, with a focus on Hamiltonian Methods.
Part of a summer project on using machine learning to identify plant species from drone images. Learned to use pix4dmapper and QGIS to process LIDAR images into an elevation model (DEM), as well as creating an educational resource to help taught Master’s students at the University of Glasgow to do the same.
Part of a summer project on using machine learning to identify plant species from drone images. Learned about and implemented cutting edge computer vision models and demonstrated their strengths and weakness for a dataset of field images in East Ayrshire from the project.

Lead the committee of my hall of residence in work to represent residents, run student-led events and ensure the hall was a safe and welcoming space. My work resulted in the highest committee approval ratings (97%) since student union records, something I’m greatly proud of.

Founded a student-led grief support network for young grievers after the passing of my Mum in late 2024.
